Before founding Backstory, Callia was an integral part of the creation of inclusive and diverse marketing and impact programs at brands like Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, and Teen Vogue.

Backstory was launched in direct response to 2020’s racial and cultural reckonings that inspired Callia to explore how she could be doing more to help diversify the world around her. Creating sustainable impact has been a constant throughout Callia’s career and serves as the foundation on which Backstory was built.

We’re not your run-of-the-mill consultancy. We support brands through a unique offering mix that intersects marketing, strategy, comms, storytelling, and DEIB, allowing us to bridge the gap between a world that wants to be more diverse, equitable, and inclusive and one that actually is.
